ACTING THE SONG MASTERCLASS

Strengthen your singing voice and build powerful skills for telling the story in this Acting the Song masterclass. You’ll learn tricks and tools to take your songs to the next level, working with coaches Brandon Baumann and Brenna Yeary in this collaborative format.


Working Slots

These singers will work onstage, receiving real-time coaching in front of fellow singers and auditors. Working slot participants will submit their song selections in advance and will each perform one piece from memory during the session.

Auditing Slots

This ticket allows guest to watch the master class and learn from observation.

BRENNA YEARY

ACTING INSTRUCTOR

Brenna Yeary is an actor, singer, director and educator recently relocated to California from NYC. She has studied with Douglas Davidson, Claire Warden (The Shakespeare Forum), Andrew Borthwick-Leslie (The Humanist Project), and Dianna Shoenborn (The Linklater Center), as well as intensives with The Central School of Speech and Drama and Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Favorite New York credits include Juliet and Tybalt in R+J, Lil in Dust You Are, and Henry in Henry V. Select regional credits include Zelda, Noises Off, Guys and Dolls, Our Show of Shows, Witness for the Prosecution, Live from WVL Radio Theatre: It’s a Wonderful Life, The Drowsy Chaperone, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cabaret, and Much Ado About Nothing in Reading, UK.

BRANDON BAUMANN

VOCAL INSTRUCTOR

Brandon Baumann holds a Master’s Degree from Kent State University in Music Education and a Vocal Pedagogy Certificate from Somatic Voice Works the LoVetri Method.  He has been an educator for the past 18 years as a private instructor, classroom teacher, and music director.  His favorite type of work is music direction and helping actors discover their voice and find freedom to bring a story to life through song. 

His directorial credits include: Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, The Spitfire Grill, The Music Man, Annie, and Our Miss Brooks. Music direction credits include: Elf, Matlitda, Spamalot, First Impressions, Phantom of the Opera, Smoke on the Mountain – Home Coming, Pirates of Penzance, and The Little Match Girl (a musical written by the staff and students of Cincinnati Christian School which includes his composition work). Performance credits include: Tulsa from Gypsy, Burl Sanders in Smoke on the Mountain, Amore with Artesan Dance Company, Horizons of Gold, The Nutcracker with Miami Valley Ballet Theatre (MVBT), Sleeping Beauty (MVBT), Westside Story, The Magic Flute, Marcellus in The Music Man, The King and I, Charlie Bates in Oliver, and Meet Me In St. Louis.
