Become an RPAC Intern
You love theatre and the arts. Now imagine helping make it happen.
RPAC interns work alongside our teaching artists and production staff across all Theatre Academy programs, gaining real, hands-on experience in theatre education, stage management, and arts leadership. It’s not a job shadow. You’re part of the team, trusted with real responsibility from day one.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Students who already love theatre and the arts, who want to go deeper: whether that’s mentoring younger performers, learning the technical side of a production, or building toward stage managing your own show one day. No prior leadership experience required. Just reliability, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn.
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO
Most of your time as an intern happens during classes and rehearsals, helping the teaching artist, supporting younger students, and learning how a production comes together backstage. Depending on your interest and experience, that can grow into:
– Stage managing an RPAC KID’s, Youth Theatre, or Performance Theatre production.
– Backstage run crew for a Mainstage show.
– Assistant directing or choreography.
– Leadership roles as a returning intern.
Every intern also joins a biweekly check-in with fellow interns and staff. This a chance to learn new skills, talk through what’s coming up, and get recognized for the work you’re doing.
TIME COMMITMENT
– Meetings: Every other Tuesday, 6:15–6:45 PM
– Everything else: Built around the classes, rehearsals, and productions.
– Schedule: Semester-based, and shaped around your age, experience, and availability.
WHAT YOU GET
– Real experience in theatre education, technical theatre, and arts leadership.
– Mentorship from RPAC’s teaching artists and production staff.
– Credit toward RPAC classes.
– Priority access to volunteer opportunities.
– A track toward leadership roles as a returning intern.
