Position Summary
The Summer Marketing Intern will play a vital role in promoting RPAC’s exciting summer season, including MainStage productions, youth camps, and special events. This is an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual to gain substantial hands-on experience marketing a diverse range of programs, with a moderate amount of creative freedom to explore and implement your own ideas. You’ll develop real-world skills in arts marketing, social media management, community outreach, and event promotion. The intern will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff to develop and execute marketing strategies that significantly increase audience engagement and ticket sales.
Responsibilities
Social Media Management
Assist in developing and scheduling engaging content for RPAC’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc.).
Research and identify relevant trends and hashtags to increase visibility.
Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and track analytics.
Create graphics and short video content for promotional purposes.
Content Creation
Draft compelling marketing copy for website updates, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
Assist with photography and videography at rehearsals, performances, and events.
Help develop social media posts related to productions and theatre news.
Community Outreach & Partnerships
Identify and research potential community partners and cross-promotional opportunities.
Assist in distributing promotional flyers and posters to local businesses and community centers.
Represent RPAC at community events and farmers markets, as needed.
Website & Email Marketing
Assist with basic website updates and content management.
Help prepare and send email newsletters to our subscriber list.
Event Support
Provide on-site marketing support at performances and special events, including taking photos/videos, interacting with patrons, and assisting with front-of-house needs.
Assist with promotional activities during show runs.
Administrative Support
Assist with general office tasks as needed.
Organize and maintain marketing materials.
Qualifications
•Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, Theatre, or a related field. (Preferred but not required)
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
•Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar) are a plus.
•Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Creative, proactive, and eager to learn.
•Passion for theatre and the performing arts.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
•Access to reliable transportation.
