This series is designed for students who are ready to deepen their understanding and performance of the Spanish social dance – and Flamenco entry point – called “Sevillanas”. Each class will focus on refining the four coplas of Sevillanas, with an emphasis on precision, expression, and partner coordination.
Students will also learn performance techniques, including stage presence, confidence, and how to adapt Sevillanas for different settings. The course will culminate in a full rehearsal of the complete choreography, providing students with the skills to perform Sevillanas confidently in social or performance contexts.

BRING TO FIRST CLASS
– Pen/Pencil + Notebook
– Each actor brings two scene suggestions from contemporary plays (not classical), choosing MM, MF, or FF as appropriate. Backup scenes are available from Ariana, so don’t hesitate to sign up! Preference for scenes that are dramatic over comedic.
Explore the art of scene work through guided practice and versatile exercises designed to unlock your potential as an actor. Unlocking the Scene equips you with practical tools to deepen character development, enhance emotional connection, and bring authenticity to every performance.
Ariana Livingston will show you how to break down scenes, get out of your head and into your body, and respond truthfully in the moment. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, rehearsal, or performance, you’ll leave with exercises and techniques you can rely on anytime to refine your craft.
All you need to bring is yourself! That said, having a pen or pencil and a notebook for jotting down notes is always a good idea. We’ll also explore props, set dressing, and costumes—no need to spend money! Instead, get creative and resourceful with items from your own home and closet.
The final class will be a showcase of the scenes.
