Adult Classes are offered weekday evenings at 6:30pm and run in 6 week sessions

SESSION 4

FEBRUARY 26TH – APRIL 4

COMEDY 101
Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm

Instructor: Dan McGowan

This 6-week class teaches you the basics of stand-up comedy including how to write jokes, find material, stage presence, finding your “comedy voice,” and more! A great place for the beginner and for the seasoned comedian looking to hone your skills!
This class also features a “class final” (a showcase featuring our students!) where you can invite friends and family to enjoy your act! 

Taught by Dan McGowan, Redding-based national touring stand-up comedian with credits that include DryBar Comedy, LA and Denver comedy clubs, cruise ships, corporate events, and more. 

This class is only open to students 18 and older.

In this class explore the fundamentals of improvisation and comedy, improve your storytelling skills, learn techniques to think quickly on your feet and to be more creative. This course is designed for the actor who wants to learn the essentials of good scenic improvisation or anyone who wants to improve their teamwork and communication skills. Through coaching, warm-up exercises, creative performance games and basic short-form scene-work, you will learn how to be more spontaneous, trusting and cooperative and how to listen in a fun, creative atmosphere. This class is open to beginning and experienced actors.
