Summer 2026 Series Shows
The Pirates of Penzance ~ June
La Périchole ~ July
The Merry Wives of Windsor ~ July
Redding Performing Arts Center launches the summer season with a delightful pairing of comic opera and classic comedy. The season opens with a revival of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, followed by Jacques Offenbach’s La Périchole, both performed in English with a live orchestra. La Périchole features vibrant choruses and a lush, melodic score, and together these two operas promise an evening of wit, romance, and high-spirited fun.
Summer Shakespeare also returns with William Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, one of his most beloved comedies, filled with clever schemes, colorful characters, and laugh-out-loud moments.
The rehearsal process has been thoughtfully designed so performers may participate in both operas without being overwhelmed, with an efficient schedule for The Pirates of Penzance allowing additional focus on La Périchole. Performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition, from those new to opera and Shakespeare to seasoned classical artists. These productions are light-hearted, playful, and full of ensemble energy—we invite you to join us for a joyful summer on the RPAC stage.
